The Miller Children Who Died in Canada

 

John and Victoria Miller's children who died in Canada are buried in Cataraqui Cemetery with their grandmother Rachael Lapointe Dwinnell Jones and grandparents Thomas and Hester Miller.

GERTRUDE EVELINE MILLER was born in Kingston, Frontenac County, Ontario on October 9, 1868. She was baptized by Reverend John A. Mulock at Saint Paul 's Church. She died in Kingston at age one year and nine months on June 23, 1870 of fever. The Reverend Mulock officiated.

MILDRED DAISY (DASEY) MILLER was born in Kingston, Frontenac County, Ontario on February 23, 1872. She was baptized by Reverend John A. Mulock at Saint Paul's Church.  She died in Kingston on July 27, 1872.

ALBERTA IRENE MILLER was born in Kingston, Frontenac County, Ontario on February 15, 1873.  She was baptized by Reverend John A. Mulock at Saint Paul's Church. She died in Kingston there on June 2, 1875.

NORA ZELLENA MILLER was born in Kingston, Frontenac County, Ontario on February 10, 1875.  She was baptized by Reverend John A. Mulock at Saint Paul 's Church. She died in Kingston on April 29, 1875 of inflammation. The Reverend H. Wilson officiated.

HERBERT THOMAS MILLER was born in Kingston, Frontenac County, Ontario on April 4, 1876.He died of dysentery at age four months on August 5, 1876. The Reverend Carey officiated at his funeral service.

VICTORIA LOUISE MILLER was born on July 31, 1880 in Palmerston, Frontenac County, Ontario. She died May 11, 1881 at age ten months.

On August 10 1850, the Cataraqui Cemetery in Kingston, Ontario was founded to meet the needs of recent immigrants who were not members of churches. The cemetery was outside the city, non-denominational, and anyone could be buried there. It was designed as a serene garden.
