Robert Stanfield was born about 1700 in Prince George County, Virginia.

His wife was named Frances. Some researchers believe that she was Frances Merryweather.

Mary Stanfield was born on January 6, 1724/25.

On August 13, 1727 he bought 311 acres in Prince George County on Mawhipponock Creek for 35 shillings.

Robert Stanfield was born on March 11, 1729/30.

Milliam Stanfield Hardaway was born about 1730.

Thomas Stanfield was born in 1732.

King George II ruled Great Britain from June 11, 1727 to October 25, 1760.

The rod or perch or pole is a surveyor's tool equal to 5 1⁄2 yards.

Seals were used to authenticate documents and men were expected to have a personal die. Records in deed books are copies and signatures are usually in the clerk’s handwriting. The clerk drew a circle around the word “seal” to indicate that the original document was sealed.

know Ye that for diverse good Causes and Considerations but more Especially for and in Consideration of the Sum of thirty five Shillings of good and lawful Mony for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia We have given granted and Confirmed and by these presents for our heirs and Successors do give grant and Confirm unto Robert Stanfield of Prince George County a certain tract or parcel of Land Containing three hundred and Eleven Acres lying and being on the upper Side of Mawhipponock Creek in the County foresaid and bounded as followeth (to wit)

Beginning at John Ellingtons Corner upon the Creek thence along his line North forty two degrees West two hundred and eighty two poles to William Hoas Corner

thence North thirty five degrees West sixty six poles along his line to Hall Hudsons Corner thence North forty degrees East one hundred and twenty four poles along Hudsons line thence East twenty three and half degrees South one hundred and ninety four poles to a hiccory in Spairs line

thence South thirty seven degrees and half East one hundred and sixteen poles to his corner thence East thirty seven and half degrees South one hundred and thirty four poles to Mawhipponock Creek up the Creek one hundred and twenty poles to his Beginning

With all To have hold To be held Yielding and Paying Provided In Witness Witness our Trusty and Wellbeloved William Gooch Esq. our Lieut Governor and Commander in chief of our said Colony and Dominion at Richmond under the Seal of our said Colony this Thirteenth day of October one thousand Seven hundred and twenty Seven in the first year of our Reign
