Marian Amanda Ricketts Kent

 

Ricketts is also spelled Rickeots, Rickeotts, Rickett, Rickets, Ricket, Rickel, Rickle, Rickels, and Rickles.

 

Illinois became a state in 1818. A large influx of American settlers came in the 1810s by the Ohio River.

Marian Amanda Ricketts Kent was born on June 19, 1848 in Cazenovia, Woodford County, Illinois. Her parents were William Ricketts and Harriet Dean.

She married William Alexander Kent on November 16, 1870. William was born in December 17, 1841 in Ohio.

Marian and William's children included:
Flora Estella Kent Clark (1871, married Lewis Ebenezer Clark),
Leslie C. Kent (1873),
Lewis Austin Kent (1876, married Rosa Gilfillan),
Archibald Vernon Kent (1879, married Clara Louisa Gillfillan),
Berton Guy Kent (1884, married Lillian May Taylor),
Gertrude M. Kebt (1889) and
Morva M. Kent (1893).

Amanda died when she was 58 in Chillicothe, Woodford County, Illinois on May 1, 1907. William died on June 9, 1919 in Chillocothe. They are buried at Chillicothe City Cemetery.
