Sarah Johnson Vincent

In 1607 the London Company established Virginia as the first permanent New World English colony.

Sarah Johnson Vincent was born on Februry 16, 1758 in Virginia. Supposdly she was a sister of President Andrew Johnsons' father.

She married John Vincent. Their children and life together are described in detail in the section on John and Sarah Vincent.

Sarah attended the Baptist Church in Brookville with her husband, but remained loyal to her Presbyterian doctrines.

Sarah died on May 16, 1822 when she was 64 in Brookville, Franklin County, Indiana.

A Virteous Wife and a faithful Friend.

Franklin County, Indiana was formed in 1811 from Dearborn and Clark counties. Brookville is the county seat and was settled in 1804.
