Mary Yerkes Conklin
Berkeley County, Virginia was created from the northern third of Frederick County, Virginia in 1772. Jefferson County was formed from the county's eastern section. In 1863 Berkeley County became part of the new state of West Virginia .

Mary Yerkes Conklin (Conklin) was born about 1778 in Berkeley County, Virginia which is now Jefferson County, West Virginia. Her father was Joshua Yerkes. 

She married Henry Conklin on January 1, 1794 in Berkeley County. Their children and life together are described in the section on Henry.
