An American Family History

The Davis, Waters, and Linton Families

Ancestors of Eunice Davis Dwinnell

Eunice Davis Dwinnell's' father, Captain Isaac Davis, died in 1776 of wounds suffered in the American Revolution. The entire Davis family was active in the American Revolution and many members signed the Association Test in Chesterfield, New Hampshire.

Simon's great grandfather, Barnabas Davis first came from England in July, 1635, in the ship Blessing. He came to check on his employer's, business. He brought his wife and children in June, 1639. They settled in Charlestown.

The Samuel and Mary Davis family in Groton suffered during the Indian Wars. Groton was under intense attacks from the indigenous peoples. John Davis and Joseph Cady were among those killed in the hostilities. The Lawrence and Anna Waters family also suffered at Lancaster. They were there for the massacres, the removal and the eventual resettlement.
