Francois Bertrand

Seraing is French speaking town in the Liêge Province of Belgium on the Meuse River. It is in the Wallonia region. It is a center for iron and crystal manufacturing.

Francois Bertrand (Frank) was born on June 1, 1833 in Seraing, Liège Province, Belguim.

He married Catherine Hocquette in 1855 when he was 22 years old. Their children and life together are described in detail in the section on Francois and Catherine Bertrand.

He probably died in 1878 when he was about 45 years old in Braidwood, Will County, Illinois.
