Edward King was born about 1720 in Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth Nichols (1728-1808). William King (1752, married Elizabeth Sharp), Edward was a veteran of the Revolutionary War, King was listed on Captain van Braam’s Company in William Armstrong Crozier’s Virginia militia roll. He was awarded 100 acres for services at the Battle of the Meadows and Fort Necessity, Pennsylvania. In 1782 he was issued a land grant of 640 acres near Piney Flats, Tennessee. It was Washington County, North Carolina then. Washington County, Tennessee 1788/89 Deed of conveyance John Dyer to Isaac King, 90 3/4A, pbo John Allsion Edward and Elizabeth were charter members of the New Bethel Presbyterian Church in Piney Flats. Edward died in 1790 and was laid to rest in New Bethel Cemetery in Piney Flats, Tennessee.
