French's sister, Elizabeth, married Israel Beardslee of
Stratford. Their eldest daughter, Abiah, married Nathaniel Mallory, son of Daniel and Sarah (Lee) Mallory, of
Stratford.
Nathaniel and Abiah are the progenitors of all
of the Mallorys of Mallorytown. They are buried in the
cemetery at Mallorytown, apparently In one grave, having
a tombstone inscribed "Nathaniel Mallory died March 1808 aged 56 year also Abiah wife of the above who
died March 15, 1828 aged 82 years?
....Henry's son, John, married as his second wife, Polly Mallory, widow of Israel
Perkins. They were second cousins, once removed...
....Dr. Harley Ellsworth French and Dr. Burton Lee French,
grandsons of John and Polly (Mallory) French, recall that
their father, David Scott French, born in 1833 in Rossle,
St Lawrence Co., N. Y., told of seeing his grandfather,
Henry French, the Loyalist, a little old man, wearing a
peculiarly shaped red cap, while seated on the porch of
his home; that he died at about ninety-four years of age,
when David was in his teens. ....
