Catherine Simpson Ricketts was born about 1819 in New York.

Early court records for Montgomery County, Indiana show on March, 1838 there was a case of Cathrn Simpson v. Jon. (Book 2, page 79)

She married Isaac Ricketts in 1839 in Montgomery County, Indiana when she was about 19 years old. Their children and life together are described in detail in the section on Isaac and Catherine Ricketts.

She died on September 2, 1877 at the age of 60 years in Lucas County, Iowa. She was buried in Chariton Cemetery with her husband, Isaac.
