An American Family History

The Baker, Kessler & Kibler Families

Ancestors of Elizabeth Baker Branstiter

The ancestors of Elizabeth Baker Branstiter were German Palatine Lutherans who were driven out of Germany by war, famine, despotic rule, and disease. The first settlers in America sent back favorable reports and others followed. The Bakers, Kesslers and Kiblers came to Philadelphia in this wave of immigration. From there, they went to Virginia's Shenandoah Valley and then to Clark County, Ohio. Elizabeth's grandfather, Jacob Baker served in the Revolution.
